Knowledge transfer in Healthcare technology: TÜV SÜD Academy provides training to Saudi Arabian authority (27.01.2012)

  1. Nine employees of the "Saudi Food and Drug Authority" (SFDA) have just completed in-depth training on the standards, laws and approval processes for medical devices at TÜV SÜD Academy. The program illustrated the theory behind the testing and assessment of medical devices by including visits to various laboratories.

smart.grids.forum: Security of supply in focus (19.01.2012)

  1. The automation of smart grids and their integration into existing networks are the two focal themes at the smart.grids.forum conference held by TÜV SÜD in Munich on 20 and 21 March 2012. The conference enables TÜV SÜD to offer grid operators and manufacturers of automation components a new forum and underlines its expertise in ensuring security of supply in the energy revolution – one of the issues of the future.

First step towards Europe-wide hydrogen training scheme (09.01.2012)

  1. Hydrogen as a fuel is on the rise. TÜV SÜD Akademie won a call by the European Commission and is now working with five partners to develop a scheme for providing training courses and information material in this field across Europe. The training courses and information materials target staff of public bodies involved in the licensing of hydrogen plants and of hydrogen plant owners, aiming to establish a standardized level of knowledge and ensure safe handling of this modern technology. The website www.hyfacts.eu is now online and offers initial information on the subject. But that's not all. In addition, TÜV SÜD Akademie has already been offering training courses in this area.

TÜV SÜD Academy fosters vocational training for young Indians (18.10.2011)

  1. TÜV SÜD Academy supports the Mar Invanios Industrial Training Centre in Kerala, India, with a donation of almost 3,000 euros, thus enabling industrial training to be provided for young Indians who normally cannot afford this type of training. Krishnakumar Gangadhara Menon, General Manager of TÜV SÜD South Asia, visited the training centre to find further starting-points for support.

When the 'flame symbol' is no longer sufficient (04.01.2011)

  1. At the turn of the year, new regulations governing the carriage of dangerous goods by road come into effect. The amendments to the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road, in short ADR, apply to both piece goods and tank transports. For water-polluting substances there is no transitional period. These substances must be identified by the new symbols effective 1 January 2011.

"Heavy-duty corrosion protection" at international level (09.08.2010)

  1. The efficiency and availability of industrial plants depend on important factors including reliable corrosion protection. Plastics play a significant role in this context. At its technical conference "Heavy-Duty Corrosion Protection" to be held on 24/25 November 2010 in Munich, TÜV SÜD will bring together experts from various countries for the first time for an international exchange of ideas and experience.

TÜV SÜD Symposium on 'Substantial Parts' (30.03.2007)

Manufacturers as well as operators of technical plants and systems, planning and engineering firms, technical consultants and testing and inspection organizations – they all must be familiar with the Pressure Equipment Directive. At TÜV SÜD's 7th European Pressure Equipment Symposium to take place in Fürstenfeldbruck near Munich on 20/21 June, all parties who have anything to do with steam boilers, vessels, pipelines and pressurized equipment can obtain information and exchange ideas on the basic legal conditions, approval and manufacturing procedures as well as practical tips to consider in planning and testing.

Occupational health and safety: international knowledge for specialists and executives (07.03.2007)

  1. You don't have to travel far to find out that occupational health and safety is far from being universally standardized. Terminology and approach may be different even within German-speaking countries, and this applies all the more to other countries inside and outside the European Union. TÜV SÜD Academy offers two training courses in which executives and safety officers are brought up to date on specialist knowledge needed in companies under European or American/Canadian management.

Speaking the same language in project management (06.02.2007)

  1. International standards are more in demand than ever, as they smooth the path of international business. International projects can also be organized and structured more effectively when governed by standardized rules. TÜV SÜD Academy has aligned its "project management" training programme to this need. In modular seminars, participants are prepared step-by-step for internationally recognized qualification in project management.

TÜV SÜD offers specialist knowledge for the medical industry in Erlangen (23.01.2007)

  1. Over 250 medical companies and research facilities are clustered in the Erlangen-Nuremberg metropolitan region. Ursula Hahn, Managing Director of Medical Valley Bayern e.V. takes this as a sign of "excellent perspectives" for the development of a leading competence centre. The association focuses on further strengthening the medical and pharmaceutical location Erlangen. As partner of the association, TÜV SÜD Akademie GmbH has further extended its training programme on health subjects in Erlangen.
