Don't delay: the deadline for GreenFleet® Award entries ends on 15 August
The countdown is on. Fleet operators aiming for pole position in green vehicle fleet management can still enter the renowned 2011 GreenFleet® Award up to 15 August, announce the award organizers, the TÜV SÜD subsidiaries FleetCompany and Fleet Logistics. For the first time, this year's GreenFleet® Award is offered at European level and will be presented at the 2011 International Motor Show IAA. For companies in the forefront of carbon reduction and use of environmentally friendly drive systems, the Award offers an excellent opportunity to benchmark their performance against that of other European fleets and present their ecological innovations to an audience of international specialists.
At the 4th presentation of the GreenFleet® Award, FleetCompany and its cooperation partner Fleet Logistics step on the gas: the accolade for innovative fleet management, which is known throughout the industry, will be awarded at the world's largest automobile exhibition – the IAA. In addition, for the first time companies from all over Europe can apply for this year's award. "The venue makes the award even more attractive, enabling the winners to present their project to an even broader audience", says Roland Vogt, Managing Director of FleetCompany. "The international award offers fleet operators the opportunity to compare their projects against projects from all over Europe in a sort of 'green benchmarking'. We invite fleet operators from small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to large-scale companies to participate in the 2011 GreenFleet® Award."
The GreenFleet® Award not only serves as an important signal that companies are starting to embrace sustainability and environmental friendliness. Today, the accolade also plays a significant role for company image. This is easy to see from the list of award winners. Last year Deutsche Post DHL, IKEA Deutschland and Paul Hartmann AG were presented with the award for their innovative fleet concepts. "Today, the handling of CO2 emissions plays a significant role in brand development", says Vogt. By displaying the GreenFleet®
Award on their websites, companies show that they use resources responsibly and operate their fleets in a cost-effective and sustainable manner.
However, the theme of green fleets includes more than image and sustainability. Fleets that save fuel also cut costs. Roland Vogt: "In modern fleet management, an entrepreneurial mindset and environmental protection are two sides of the same coin. To be successful today, responsibility and cost-awareness must reign throughout from the selection of vehicle models to driver training. The GreenFleet® Award creates a basis of trust for joint projects."
Applications for the GreenFleet® Award should be submitted by 15 August at the latest to: greenfleet@fleetcompany.com.
