Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Kreinberg receives IEC's Thomas A. Edison Award
Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Kreinberg, Senior Consultant International Affairs and before that a long-standing member of the Board of Management of TÜV SÜD Product Service, was honoured with the Thomas A. Edison Award by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). By awarding this accolade, the IEC honours Dr Kreinberg's outstanding services as Chairman of the "Committee for Factory Surveillance".
![]() | Defining and establishing testing and certification standards for electrical systems and equipment, continuously improving these regulations in the interest of the clients and keeping an eye on innovations for the activities of the IEC: practice-related standardization and the theme of conformity assessment have always meant a lot to Dr Wolfgang Kreinberg. His special focus in this field is on the operations of testing laboratories and factory inspections. In this respect, 64-year old Kreinberg sat as chairman or member in over 20 IEC committees for many years. In 2005, Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Kreinberg received the IEC 1906 Award in recognition of his outstanding commitment to the "Business Development" in the IECEE CB Scheme. |
The International Electrotechnical Commission presents the Thomas A. Edison Award to honour active chairpersons and secretaries of IEC committees and sub-committees and of conformity assessment systems and their committees whose actions have provided outstanding contributions to the work of the IEC. The official presentation of the award to Dr Kreinberg will take place in October 2011 at the General Meeting of the IEC.
