New TÜV SÜD certificate for building integrated photovoltaics
New TÜV SÜD certificate for building integrated photovoltaics
TÜV SÜD will present its new certificate for Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) at Intersolar 2011 in Munich. The certificate serves as evidence that PV modules and PV installations satisfy the requirements of the relevant standards, benefiting not only manufacturers, but also architects, investors and building developers. At the TÜV SÜD stand, the company's PV specialists will provide information about the BIPV certification scheme and their comprehensive range of photovoltaic services (Stand 151, Hall A4).
Within the scope of the new BIPV certificates of TÜV SÜD, manufacturers can commission impartial third-party experts to test their PV modules and PV installations and confirm their compliance with the relevant national and international standards. "Standard conformity is a critical selection criterion for purchasers", says Andreas Faißt, PV expert at TÜV SÜD Product Service GmbH. Certification also facilitates acceptance of the building by a third-party expert and obtaining of a building permit by the competent authorities.
For the BIPV certificate, the TÜV SÜD experts verify criteria including mechanical resistance and stability, as well as module and system safety in case of fire and during operation. Further aspects assessed within the scope of certification include noise protection, energy, efficiency and thermal insulation. This makes it easier for manufacturers and investors to classify their newly installed PV systems within the scope of the building code. "Our certification is carried out in accordance with individual national requirements, thus facilitating access to international markets", explains Faißt. The certificate confirms the technical safety of PV modules and PV installation techniques and may prove helpful for obtaining government grants which are offered particularly by Italy and France for roof-integrated solutions. Comprehensive service portfolio for manufacturers, investors, importers and installation companies
At Intersolar from 8 to 10 June 2011, visitors can inform themselves about the new BIPV certificate as well as TÜV SÜD's complete service portfolio in the field of photovoltaics.Offering a host of services, the experts target manufacturers, investors, importers and installers. Their comprehensive range of PV services extends from testing and certification of PV systems, PV modules and PV components in accordance with national and international standards and directives to profitability checks, feasibility studies, site and environmental assessments, supplier evaluation, technical due diligence and the preparation of maintenance plans and training offers.
