Occupational safety management certification
Systematic Occupational Safety
Gone are the days when occupational safety was put into effect after the accident has already taken place. It is no longer acceptable to vaguely adhere to the rules then to analyse the ensuing accidents only to establish that they could have been avoided.
The structuring of the work place and processes as well as the use of tools and equipment must be done in such a way that any existing hazards are assessed and an appropriate remedy and preventative measures are met. A regular check and analysis of these measures is necessary to ensure they are effectively implemented. This essentially lays out the demands of occupational safety as a management system.
The occupational safety management system also supports the employer, who is personally called to account for shortcomings should an accident occur.
