• Project eligibility is restricted to renewable energies and energy-efficiency projects because of their inherently low environmental risks.
• A detailed „additionality test“ ensures that credits are only awarded to genuine emissions reductions that would not have happened without CDM.
• Detailed verification of environmental compatibility and social impacts.

When applying these principles, project developers meet the highest voluntary credibility and transparency standards.
