FMEA
Be aware of the weaknesses in your system
Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) is an analytic method employed in preventive system and risk analysis. It is designed to detect potential weaknesses, recognize and evaluate their significance and initiate suitable measures to prevent or spot such weaknesses before they turn into problems (preventive approach). You can, however, also achieve considerably improvements (corrective approach) by applying FMEA to your existing products and processes.
FMEA may be applied to:
- system, product and process optimization
- furnish safety documentation for approval purposes
- knowledge-base establishment
- cause analysis, corrective-action development
- experience documentation.
