Robots on a safety mission - intelligent inspection pigs

More and more frequently measurement pigs are being used to detect pipe defects such as dents, reduced wall thickness or cracking within the scope of corrective and preventive pipeline maintenance. These devices enable non-destructive testing of pipeline status without having to interrupt operations. Depending on the type of test, either geometry pigs, or pigs for testing wall thickness or crack pigs are employed.
